What is the Analytics add-on?
Analytics tracks how visitors interact with your Amazon product search - what they search for, which products they click, and which filters they use. It provides an admin dashboard with charts, tables, and export capabilities.
Do I need the parent plugin?
Yes. Analytics requires Paapi Product Search for Amazon Premium to be installed and activated. The add-on hooks into the parent plugin's search interface to capture events.
Does it collect personal data?
No. Analytics is privacy-first by design. It uses no cookies, collects no personally identifiable information (PII), and does not log IP addresses. Session IDs are random UUIDs stored only in the browser's sessionStorage and discarded when the tab closes.
Will it slow down my site?
No. The frontend tracker is a ~5KB vanilla JavaScript file that loads asynchronously. Events are batched and sent in the background. It has zero impact on page load speed or Core Web Vitals.
How long is data stored?
By default, analytics data is retained for 90 days. A daily WP-Cron job aggregates raw events into daily summaries and prunes data older than the retention period. You can export data before it expires.
Does this replace Google Analytics?
No - it complements it. Google Analytics tracks general website traffic, while this add-on tracks product search-specific interactions that GA cannot capture: which products are clicked, which filters are used, and what queries produce results.
Does it create database tables?
Yes, the add-on creates two custom tables: one for raw events and one for daily aggregated summaries. Both are automatically cleaned up if you uninstall the add-on.
